Our Mission
Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc.

The REAL Youth Center at Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc. was developed to target Asian and Pacific Islander Youth, a fast growing and under-represented segment of the population. The REAL Youth Center has great capacities to address issues that many Asian and Pacific Islander youth face, including language barriers, cultural barriers, generational gaps, and acculturation stress.

The REAL Youth Center provides various services and activities for youth, including an After-school Program, Health Education Services for local middle, high schools, and community centers, and Peer Leader and Volunteer Opportunities for youth. In addition to our Youth Center Activities, we also run a Youth Clinic on Wednesday evenings, offering confidential, teen-friendly, low-or-no-cost clinical services for young people ages 12 to 24 years. Our mission at the REAL Youth Center is to provide a safe and positive space for young people to ask questions and get answers about the issues that are important to them, develop skills that they will need to make healthy decisions and lead successful lives, access confidential, and low or no cost clinical services, and engage in positive and meaningful relationships with their peers and staff.

The REAL Youth Center empowers youth to develop into physically, emotionally, mentally healthy individuals. Through participating in programs and services, youth will have the opportunity to develop themselves into critical thinkers, effective leaders, and responsible members of our diverse community. The REAL Youth Center is a project of Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc. (APHCV). APHCV is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Community Health Center whose mission is to advocate for and provide quality health care services to all persons in a culturally competent manner.

We offer services with a particular focus on low-income families and underserved Asians and Pacific Islanders. We also offer programs of health education and community economic development within our catchment area as well as other regions in Los Angeles County. Back to top
